Jamhuri day  Reports Ann Njenga

Jamhuri day  was yet another Special day where many Kenyans and Kenyan friends at large came together at the Scandic Hotel. Even those who had planned to demonstrate set aside their differences and joined the others to commemorate this special occasion.

Many were elegantly dressed and walked majestically to the entrance of the hotel hall where they were warmly welcomed by the Ambassador Mrs Purity Muhindi and the embassy officials .

Drinks and bites were readily available and it was a matter of how much one could handle . Laughter could be heard from both near and far as people mingled some discussing politics others social issues . One could also see flashes of cameras from different corners and at different angles.

Though there was no official speech to remind Kenyans and Kenyan friends  the importance of this occasion , that did not stop all to have a good time.

This being the first Jamhuri day celebration to be hosted by our new Ambassador , I think we can all agree she did a commendable job.

We hope that this will be a beginning of  a great relation and a setting of activities by  our Kenyan diplomats  to unify the Kenyan community in Sweden.
